Live Edge Tables

Using wood cut from fallen trees mostly from the Cleveland, Ohio area – Maple, Elm, Cherry and Sycamore. Tables are live edge on one, two, three or all sides. The bark has been removed (and saved to be used for pen making).

Many table tops feature spalted and figured wood. Spalted wood most often occurs as the result of ‘incipient decay’ in trees that have fallen over and are in contact with moist ground. It is the result of bacteria, fungi and other organisms feeding on the wood creating beautiful patters and colors.

Fountain, Rollerball and Ballpoint Pens

Hand turned pens in many styles using native and exotic woods and acrylic and a combination of the different mediums. The above fountain pen is an example of stabilized spalted Pecan.

My main goal is to promote the benefits of hand written correspondence…numerous studies have proven that brain activity, retention and creativity are enhanced by “writing it down”.

Specialty pens for Police, Fire and Canine lovers as well as pens featuring Technology are a few of the many examples of writing instruments crafted.

Featuring various shapes from fallen trees in the Cleveland, Ohio area – Cherry, Cottonwood, Maple, Mulberry, Sycamore and Oak. The boards are finished with a hand rubbed mixture of food grade mineral oil and organic beeswax that I make.

All boards have rubber or wooden ‘feet’ are installed on the reverse side of the boards to allow for ease of placing or picking up.
